In case anyone is curious... I'm still doing record reviews at albumsilike.blogspot.com

It's different than RetroLowFi, but it'll still entertain you.

And our own Emily Kane is still blogging it up. You can find her at inlovewithemilykane.blogspot.com

Happy reading!

In true fanboy fashion, I have to say hooray for a Ben Folds Five song!

In all other fashions, I have to say that I will mourn the passing of this amazing blog. Everyone who had written here was (and remains to be) so talented, passionate, and focused.

Please don't take a single thing down - you'll thank google in a few months for continuing to throw you traffic - you guys were pretty far ahead of the bell curve in so many cases, I imagine your site will end up being extremely relevant for a long long time to come.

Best of luck in your future writing/reviewing/enjoyment of media!

Sad to see you go. You all did a pretty awesome thing with this blog/zine - even when you did trash the newest FOTW release :p.

If you ever turn it into a more full-time thing or decide to come back for some reason or another, definitely drop me a line so I know to check back.

Oh! This came a bit as an unexpected surprise, and although i'm sad to see RetroLowFi go, it only means it was great having it around until now. I'll definitly miss reading the blog!

All the best to you guys in your next projects. x

I was just introduced to this site and now I find it closed down. And I don't get a chance to see a whole lot of the previous entries. Tres disappointing! I wanted so much to see more music reviews, check out the bootlegs and read the recommendations on films. Or perhaps I'm just not doing it right?

i'm incredibly sad that retrolowfi is gone, i love reading your articles so much. you give such insight without that pretentious fluff like most music/media/pop culture blogs.

i will miss you

well, that's a shame. i really enjoyed what you guys did, and was hoping to send you my own self-released record; i finally finished it on the very day you announced your exit. i hope someone can fill the void. thanks for all the excellent work, and good luck with everything in the future!

I am very saddened by this closing but i know it was for the best. I remembered hearing of marriages and stuff with some of the people at RetroLowFi and the family stuff should go first of course. It's good to hear you are still accepting cd's. I always send some your way. On Thursday i had sent a package to you with 7 records and sometime this month i'll send you the new compilations and such. It was nice to have you contribute on them Marc and to have your friend Chris on there as well. I wish you the best with everything that you do for now on and hope you enjoy the rest of the summer. One thing that i'll always admire about RetroLowFi is that this place is one of the few places online that would recognize the existence of the smaller DIY labels and give them attention like you would with any other label no matter how big or small. You didn't really discriminate when the music sounded good to your ears and you didn't show bias towards certain labels like most review sites often do.
Thanks Marc and the rest of RetroLowFi.
Enjoy the summer and i'll always remember what you did for Series Two and all the other DIY labels out there.

best,
Christopher

Despite the fact that I seemed to disagree with RLF's opinions what seemed like more often than not, it's a bummer that its not going to be around anymore. It was really exciting to hear you do feature blogs on a lot of the DIY kids that no one ever seems to single out and take explicit notice of.

Thanks, RetroLowFi
